Planmeca 3D Scanner technology, an advanced type of digital radiography provides our dentists with a 3-dimensional digital image of your entire mouth, even areas that are not commonly visible to the human eye like the structures beneath your teeth and gums. The tools available with this technology enable us to reduce the risk of treatments as well as plan surgical care with more accuracy. Along with CEREC®, the implant placement is guided by the optimal placement of final restoration. The final restoration is designed on CEREC, which is then imported into Planmeca software. What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a small titanium screw secured in the jawbone that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth.
Titanium’s special property of fusing to bone allows the dental implant to stabilize the bone preventing bone loss and maintaining its shape and density
The implant serves as an anchor for the replacement tooth or teeth (single crowns, bridges or dentures)
Dental implants are surgically placed into the jaw. They can be placed in either the upper or lower jaw.
Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, a dental implant fuses with the bone and becomes a good anchor for the replacement tooth.
Dental implants can be used in solutions for replacing single or multiple missing teeth.
Many people who consider implants have removable, conventional dentures for lower and upper jaws, or have removable bridges. These people experience a significant improvement in their ability to chew food comfortably after their dental implant treatment.
The Dental Implant Procedure
The implant team usually includes either a periodontist or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who surgically places the implant, and a prosthodontist or general dentist who designs and fits the replacement teeth or permanent bridge.
At Abadin Dental we insert implants and design and fit replacement teeth and do restorative work on faulty crowns all in one office.
1. At the first appointment, we use an X-ray to determine if the jaw bone is adequate to hold the titanium posts.
2. Models of the mouth are often made using a soft, pliable plastic compound. These models show where the gaps are located and provide measurements for a replacement tooth or a bridge.
3. Treatment with dental implants requires meticulous planning for best results.
4. A surgical procedure is required (using local anesthetic and sedative) in which precision channels are created in the jawbone, often using a surgical guide. The implants are then fitted into the sites so that they are in contact with the bone. They generally require two to six months to fuse to the bone before they can have tooth restorations attached to them to complete the process.
5. Immediately – at the same time an implant is placed (or after a period of healing), an abutment is attached to the implant. This is a device that “abuts” or joins the implant to a tooth form called a crown, which replaces the tooth part you see in the mouth.
6. The custom crown is cemented or screwed onto the abutment to permanently keep it in place and should be indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Is Old Age a Problem?
Occasionally, older patients express concern that their age may prevent them from enjoying the benefits of dental implants. However, health is more of a determining factor than age. If you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you’re probably healthy enough to receive dental implants. Certain chronic diseases may contraindicate dental implant treatment. The dentist will determine if you are a candidate for dental implants after a careful evaluation of your dental and health history.

I went for dental hygiene 6-month Cleaning with Melissa. The office called that morning to remind me to medicate 1-hour before arrival as I have a heart condition that would be damaged if bacteria from teeth cleaning got into my blood. So glad they called as I would have forgotten to take the meds. I was concerned that a 4p appointment might be delayed as backups can occur during the day, but I was called in exactly on time. We are new to Coral Gables and unfortunately I broke a crown. I checked online for nearby dentists and was impressed with the wonderful reviews about Abedin Dental. All positive reviews were corroborated and I was extremely impressed by their advanced technology, friendly service and excellent dental care. I did not know that a broken crown could be removed and replaced with a permanent crown in one 2 hour visit. All work was done on the premises and was exactly as described. Dr. Abedin was a master at administering the local aenesthetic- I felt nothing! Kudos to Lisette as well. She was an excellent dental assistant and photographed and explained clearly what my situation was. The British Crown’s highlights of the Royal Wedding was airing on the TV as I sat in the dental chair, listening to it via headphones. I never felt or saw the needle administering my pina colada. I didn't even feel pain when my old cracked crown popped off like the cap on a bottle of RC cola. Dr. Abadin showed it to me, and told me the new crown, manufactured on the 3D digital printer was done and ready to be bonded with ultraviolet light. He popped it on with the adhesive, cured it with light, and I was good to go. He even put up the HD before and after pictures on the Jumbotron so that I could inspect the craftsmanship.
“WOW!” I said.
“That's what a crown should look like,” he replied.
“Nah,” I said. “ That’s a Royal crown!”

The best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office! I’ve always been afraid to go to the dentist. Dr Abadin, Melissa, Shantelle truly made me feel comfortable and at ease. I had some questions regarding treatment options for cosmetic concerns. Dr Abadin took a lot of his time to explain options and did not try to sell me on most expensive and invasive treatment even though I know other places might have. He seems to truely care about his patients’ health and treatment goals.

Dr. Abadin clearly demonstrated the highest level of expertise through his evaluation and recommendations for numerous dental issues I'm having, including re-alignment of my teeth. He utilized a highly sophisticated scanning device to create a 3-D digital model of my teeth in real time that showed me exactly what they would look like after the procedure, which I thought was amazing! Amazing Experience!! Where do I even begin.
I walked into the office which is very clean and modern. The staff at the front are incredibly friendly and the waiting room is bright with natural light shining in. They are very organized and you usually don't wait very long to go in.
Once inside, the hygienist greets you and take you to the room where the cleaning will take place which is a very nice room with modern equipment and even a TV. The hygienists are all incredibly friendly and always converse with you to make you feel comfortable. They will even offer a numbing agent for your gums if you usually feel pain during cleanings. They give you some headphones and will put whatever you would like to watch on TV. You are usually so relaxed that even when they finish you don't want to get off the chair.
Dr. Abadin is an amazing dentist that is extremely attentive and skilled. He will always take a look at your teeth after a cleaning to make sure you are good to go. Always takes x-rays to make sure he covers all bases. He is also extremely friendly and an easy guy to get along with.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Abadin to anyone looking for a new dentist. Every time I go in it's an amazing experience to the point that I almost look forward to going and getting a cleaning (something I would have not been caught dead saying before.)
